Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah plastik masih terbatas pada sistem 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), pemanfaatan sampah plastik menjadi bahan bakar, dan pembakaran sampah. Diantara ketiga solusi tersebut, solusi pembakaran sampah plastik-lah yang tanpa disadari malah menimbulkan permasalahan baru ke lingkungan, sehingga disebut sebagai False Solution Management. Hal tersebut diperparah pula dengan fakta bahwa sampah yang dibakar adalah sampah plastik impor, sebagaimana yang dilakukan pengusaha industri tahu di Desa Tropodo. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontaminasi mikroplastik pada tahu sebagai produk makanan komersil di sentra industri tahu Desa Tropodo, Kecamatan Krian, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini dijelaskan dengan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 12 sampel. Seluruh sampel tersebut diambil dari 4 lokasi yang menggunakan bahan bakar berbeda-beda, yakni dari kayu, kayu dan plastik, plastik sachet, dan berbagai jenis sampah plastik. Mikroplastik yang ditemukan pada tahu di daerah tersebut antara lain, fiber, filamen, dan fragmen dengan nilai kelimpahan tertinggi diperoleh Lokasi 4, Lokasi 3, Lokasi 2, serta Lokasi 1. Dibutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut FTIR guna mengetahui jenis polimer dalam sampel.
